Description: Feel the vibes of the African bush on a real Namibian cattle farm on some 6000 ha of vast and beautiful acacia savannah. Otjiruze still is an active cattle farm. Grazing on the nutritious rangelands of Otjiruze are two well-known cattle breeds, Brahman and Simmentaler. Thus guests staying for a few days will have the opportunity to gain a first hand insight into the joys and set-backs of a farmer family on a producing farm in Namibia. Right next to the Otjiruze river and just a few kilometres away from the farm house is the ?Otjiruze River Camp?. Set among a cluster of camel thorn and sweet-thorn trees, it will give the real ?out in the bush? feeling. Sitting around the campfire at night, listen to the yelping call of a jackal, or the hoot of an owl, gives you the feeling of being out in the wilds. And in the morning your wake-up call is a raucous choral performance by grey louries, hornbils, starlings and francolins. The campsite offers ablution facilities with hot and cold water, a kitchen and two large braai (barbeque) areas together with a ?bush bar?. The only thing you will have to bring along is your camping equipment and your food supplies. Otjiruze has hosted trophy hunters for the past 24 years, some of whom have returned again and again for 15 consecutive years.
