Visit the local historical towns including Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, and Paarl. Go for walks above Franschhoek, on the mountainside, or on the Arboretum walk in Paarl along the Berg River. Go for winetasting on horseback though the Robertsvlei forests, or Trout fishing up at the head of the valley. For those interested, a visit to local development and empowerment projects will be rewarding. For longer trips you can drive to Cape Town (50 minutes away) and visit the Peninsula, the Waterfront Development, the Aquarium, the National Botanic Gardens at Kirstenbosch. Or drive to Hermanus (1 and a half hours away) for whale watching.
