Description:
Nestling at the foot of the Steenkampsberg mountain range is
Malapo Country Lodge. Panoramic views of the area make this
a truly idyllic setting where guests can slip into the serenity of
the countryside.

The Lodge is 285km from Johannesburg and a perfect destination or stopover from which to visit the scenic attractions of Mpumalanga and Kruger National Park.

The accommodation comprises of Four well-appointed cottages, set in manicured gardens, are individually decorated and fitted with modern conveniences.

A maximum of ten guests can be accommodated thus ensuring a
haven of tranquility. Each cottage has a private patio offering either garden or mountain views from where spectacular sunsets end the day.
When darkness prevails, be soothed by the evocative calls of the
resident owls.

Relax at the swimming pool while savouring the peace and beauty of the gardens. The more energetic guests may fly-fish for Rainbow trout on two still waters or the famous Lunsklip River. Short horse outrides offer a different perspective of the surrounding countryside. The bird life is interesting with a variety of resident and migrant species. A mini-golf course and playpark will
occupy the younger generation. The waterfalls of Sabi, the historic town of Pilgrim's Rest, the wild horses of Kaapschehoop and the quaint village of Dullstroom are easily accessible day trips from the Lodge.

Enjoy an aperitif in the Lodge's convivial pub followed by a
four course table d'hôte dinner in the cosy dining room. Rainbow trout is abundant in the "Highlands" and a table speciality. A small yet interesting selection of South African wines compliments the meal. A group of guests may request dinner to be served in the thatched lapa creating the ambience for a true South African evening.
