Description: Only 6 km from Machadodorp, on the N4 highway to the Kruger National Park lies Trout & About on 155 hectors of unspoilt Mountainous grassland. Expect nothing but natural land and views of Machadodorp and the lowveld. Arrive and relax in our log cabin or our 6 double-bedroom farmhouse, built by locals in stone, with an atmosphere of rural English country living, above our pristine horse stables. After dinner, watch DSTV or tie that special fly while others play board games. For the more adventurous try our secluded camping site. At first light, from your bedroom watch the stable hands prepare our horses for the day's activities, if you haven't decided on an early encounter of our Rainbow trout. After breakfast, encounter our jump-for-joy arena and take a half an hour outride, or go fly fishing in our 3 well stocked dams within walking distance (or by 4x4 vehicle) down the valley. Mid-morning is time out and calls for that hike or mountain bike ride to the spring for an hour or two. Up through the farm, sit next to the spring with your cooler box, to indulge in the view. After lunch get some adrenaline pumping shooting clay pigeons under the watchful eye of our staff, and as the sun sets, again attempt that special own tied fly on our rainbow trout, before joining the party in the "kraal" for that "hair let down" evening in our camping site. Sunday morning is real leisure time - after brunch, enjoy your accomplished state of mind by just doing nothing - or take a drive to Waterval Boven for a steam train ride or go the Dullstroom craft market route.
