Set in a beautiful African environment on the banks of the Zambezi River in North Eastern Namibia, 40km east from Katima Mulilo, is the secluded Kalizo Lodge. Relax and unwind at Kalizo's tranquil surroundings in the Primeval Wilderness.

Fisherman's paradise, Kalizo has the best Tiger and Bream fishing venue!

Kalizo Lodge offers the option of self-catering units, DBB or camping.

Solitude, space and spectacular river sunsets are what visitors come to experience in this fascinating area with vast Flood Plains and rich bird-life. Kalizo is a great getaway for the whole family, so come and experience paradise with us on the banks of the Zambezi.

Kalizo Lodge offers the option of Self Catering Units, Dinner Bed and Breakfast, or Camping. We also cater for Conferences, Workshops and Corporate Functions.

Dinner, Bed & Breakfast:
Seven quaint, rustic, thatched two bed en-suite chalets near the waters edge, afford peace and tranquility and uninterrupted views over a wide expanse of the river and magnificent sunsets absorb the Stress and Tension of Life in the fast lane.

Self Catering:
Four self-catering units, comprising of two and three bedrooms with bathroom and kitchennette, with basic cutlery, crockery, two-plate stove, fridge, towels and linen.

Fishing:
Superb angling opportunities for the 93 species which inhabit these waters are on offer. Kalizo Lodge is particularly renowned for excellent Tiger and Bream Fishing.

Tiger Fish between 5 - 7 kg are not uncommon, whilst the current Lodge record for this species is 8.2 Kg on fly and 10 Kg conventional fishing.

Well equipped boats as well as rods and fishing tackle are available for hire and our experienced guides accompany guests to the best fishing locations on the river.

Birding is an all year round pleasure with excellent opportunities to see over 430 species of different birds which inhabit the flood plains and surrounding areas.

A colony of Carmine Bee-Eaters can be viewed from the river mid-August to late November.

A leisurely boat cruise on the river is likely to reveal the ever present African Fish eagle, Coppery-tailed Coucal, Slaty Egret, White crowned Lapwing, Western Banded Snake Eagle, Rufousbellied Heron.

Between April and December, the magnificent African Skimmers are a familiar sight skimming low over the water, or nesting on the sandbanks.

The Endemic Birds include the Shelly Sunbird (which arrives mid-September), Brown Fire Finch, Hartlaub's Babbler, and many more.

The seasonal Pools on the Flood Plains attract an exceptional variety of Water Fowl all the year round.

There is always something for the whole family to do at Kalizo. After an early morning Nature walk along the river bank feeling refreshed and ready to conquer the world. Mum and the kids can relax in our crystal clear swimming pool, or go for an exhilarating quad bike ride. Dad if interested in fishing can spend the day out on the river, if not go birding with the family or visit our local African Village and learn more about African Culture. For the newly weds, you can experience your own Traditional Wedding on the Zambezi River sandbanks, something you both will treasure for life

As Kalizo is situated very close to Southern Africa's Three major Tourist attractions, namely the Chobe National Park in Botswana, Zimbabwe's famed Victoria Falls and Livingstone in Zambia, we cater for trips to these attractions.
